“Absolutely, YES!”

Mr. Teske Attends Science 7

“Absolutely, YES!!” That was my answer to Mrs. Palomaki when she asked if I would like to join her Science 7 class.  She had informed me that the class was in the middle of the Heat and Temperature unit and they would be doing an experiment that day.  

 There was no way I was going to turn that invitation down.  So I went to the class and I had a blast!  Mrs. Palomaki began the class with a brief explanation of the activity, and based on their knowledge of this topic already, she had the students write a prediction on their lab write-ups as to what was going to happen.  Of course, I had to make my own prediction as well.  Then, the students and I anxiously watched to see if our predictions were correct as Mrs. Palomaki demonstrated the experiment.  After the experiment was completed, Mrs. Palomaki asked if I wanted to do the experiment.  Once again, my response was, “Absolutely, YES!!” So I did and it was awesome!

 The fun didn’t end there.  Mrs. Palomaki explained that she had a couple stations set up for the students to each perform the experiment.   Watching the students engaged in the activity, and discussing the activity with students was a real joy for me.  Thank you to Mrs. Palomaki’s Science 7 class for including me in your class that day.

 About the picture:

The experiment… I did get other pics of me with the students in the class, but they all showed the end result of the experiment, so I couldn’t use those.  The Oilers jersey… it just so happened that I had my Oilers jersey at school that day and other proud Oilers fans, such as Mr. Hatch, were wearing their jerseys and suggested I should put mine on.  I will never turn an invite like that down either, so my response was… you guessed it, “Absolutely, YES!!”
